2011 Governors Arts Award Recipients to be Honored on April 27

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts is pleased to announce seven recipients of the 2011 Governors Arts Awards. Awardees will be honored at a ceremony at the Governor and Executive Council Chambers on April 27, 2011. Due to the limited capacity of the Chambers, the ceremony is by invitation.

However, we invite arts supporters to join us for a reception to celebrate both this year’s award recipients and nominees at:

Red River Theatres, 11 South Main Street, Concord on April 27th from 3pm – 5pm.
A brief program will begin at 4:30 pm with remarks by first lady Dr. Susan Lynch.

As space is limited to the first 160 respondents, an RSVP is required.

Come join us to thank this year’s Governors Arts Award recipients and nominees for their efforts to promote the excellence, growth and availability of the arts in New Hampshire.

The 2011 Governors Arts Awards are non-cash recognition. The presentation of the original sculptural awards designed by Berlin artist Andre Belanger and the reception are supported through private donations.

• Sylvia Miskoe, traditional contra dance & Scottish musician, Concord
• Individual Arts Patron Award recipient:
• M. Christine Dwyer, arts patron, researcher and advocate, Portsmouth
• Lotte Jacobi Living Treasure Award recipient:
• Jon Brooks, furniture maker/sculptor, New Boston
• Special Award: Voice of New Hampshire:
• Fritz Wetherbee, radio and television personality, Acworth

The State Arts Council is Moving!

As a cost saving measure, the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts
is moving to a state-owned building.
We will be on the first floor, sharing the building with another member of our department,
the Division of Historical Resources, which is located on the second floor.

As of April 26, our new address will be:  

19 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH
Phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.

From April 22 to May 4, our computers and phones will be interrupted.
